THE AMERICAN FRIENDS OF THE ROYAL COURT THEATRE provides financial support to the Royal Court Theatre, a respected producing company based in London.  The AAFRT was founded in 1996, when the the theatre was led by Stephen Daldry, and ran for some 20 years, successfully finding and promoting “New American Voices”. Emerging playwrights in the US who were struggling to be commercially produced were offered a home by the London organization. They were nurtured, mentored and then staged at the Royal Court and often went on to be celebrated in New York. 




Monica founded the non-profit, which became a model for other theatre organizations seeking to establish a US fundraising arm. Founding President. Created soirees for supporters and donors around visiting directors and actors, in a salon format. Conceived “New American Voices” strategy. Member until about 2005.
