Sleep no more…….. The audience is caught up in the ruined aftermath of a bloody civil war. Ruthlessly fighting to survive, the Macbeths are propelled to seize the crown by forces of elemental darkness.

Shakespeare’s most intense and terrifying tragedy was directed in 2017 by the artistic leader of the National Theatre, Rufus Norris. He projected a post-apocalyptical setting for the warring Scots, starring Rory Kinnear as Macbeth and Anne-Marie Duff playing Lady Macbeth. 

The National Theatre under Rufus Norris and Nick Hytner created the blockbusters Warhorse (which traveled world-wide) and History Boys (remade as a movie), One Man Two Guvnrs, (which launched  James Corden‘s career in the US), and Network.

Monica underwrote the production’s harrowing costumes, props and setting, created in the workshops of the National Theatre.
