Historic Royal Palaces
was originally set up in 1989 and In 1998 was contracted to manage the palaces on behalf of 'The Queen in Right of Crown’. It receives no funding from the Government or the Crown, depending on the support of visitors, members, donors, volunteers and sponsors. Over 4 million people visit the palaces annually.
Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, Banqueting House, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle are all under its care.
